Maybe on the news, but rarely in our personal lives. Maybe that's why murder mysteries appeal so much, moreso than movies about family fights at holiday dinners. My wife had an elderly aunt who was murdered by persons unknown years ago and still unsolved. That's the only time it has come close to me apart from one student at my new school, which serves low-income minorities from rough areas.
