"Swing for the fences" implies some that sort of skill, preparation, desire will influence the outcome; this could describe situation for the institutions with their access to senior mgmt, suppliers,vendors etc. For retail investors such as yourself and others on this board this is a blindfolded roll of the dice where your opponents interests are not parallel with yours and at times will run counter to yours; i.e. sucker you in while selling to you.
