tonyt, there is an old saying about "A fool opens his mouth and proves it to others". Do you happen to remember the entire saying? Well, I've gone over some of your major advice on this LGND thread. You might want to consider posting less and listening more, on this thread! ====================================================================== << "The warrants are clearly not a good investment choice as they can easily move up and down 20% in a day for no apparent reason." >>
<< "If you must own Ligand, buy the stock. If you really must own the warrants, don't buy on margin." >>
<<"As I've shown, even when margining the warrants, its best to buy the stock." >> ====================================================================== As you've shown. Gag me! Since these great posts of yours, LGNDW has appreciated about 57%, while LGND has appreciated 27% ======================================================================
<< "It might be worthwhile to factor in past performance of LGND in the 1st half of '96 and '97 (spring and summer historically are not good times for biotechs --- however, past performance, is no guarantee, so '98 could be different)." >> ====================================================================== Factor in past performance????? LGND's stock rallied from $11 to $20 from March 96 thru May 96; and also rallied from $9 to $14 1/2 from May 97 thru Jun 97. You would look a little more credible (if that is possible) by checking your homework, a little, before you post. By the way, what grade are you in? In addition, Fidelity's FBIOX "biotech" mutual fund also had a nice rally from May 97 thru July 97.
That's two years in a row, in which Ligand has rallied during the 1st half of a year. Is it going to repeat again this year? I hope so! Also, LGND has just appreciated about 27% in the last week. Do your parents know that you are using their PC during the day, while they are working? |
