That's the one thing that is really bugging me. So many puts for us to drop hard right now.
I guess I should have copied the charts I was looking at last night too. The market is really split between old school and new economy. I what I call ribbon charts. Just indexes with a lot of moving averages on them so they look like ribbons that twist as trends change. It really accentuates the divide between the DOW, SPX, NDX, R2K. All but the DOW are solidly bears but the DOW looks like we're at a low and about to climb from support.
Everyone was hoping for friendly reports this morning and set to rally but the Grinch came instead of Santa. Those puts are saving everything so far. When we initially tanked on the PCE, spending and durable goods reports, soon as we got close to 3800 they bounced it hard. A bunch of 3900 calls were bought yesterday during the closing rally so we're kind of stuck right here in the middle unless they are willing to delta hedge it. We might just wander around here in the middle.
Minus 10 here and the air hurts my face. I used to work all night on the flight line in worse than this. Had a guys eyes freeze stuck open one night. I guess when we're young our circulation is better because I don't want to be outside today at all so I'm hoping for a tradable market to keep me busy.
