Andrew,

>> Can anyone name a Sony product that isn't at least 10-20% more expensive then the competition? <<

Not much, but CD-ROM, CDR, Floppy drive and PSX are four hardwares. Also accessaries like VHS tape, cassette tape, CDR. (I have no experience with their tape/DAT product)

Sony products which is more expensive than the competitors are computer monitor, digital camera and all home electronic devices like VCR, Camcorder, TV, cordless phone...

Stock bull's concern is valid. The HiFD has all the elements to become the greatest threat of Zip but it is too early to tell. Another threat is from Castlewood's Orb but the threat affect SyQuest more than Iomega. If SyQuest cannot kill the product in legal way. SyQuest will be in in deep $#!t. Orb is scheduled to ship by end of February or beginning of March according to Castlewood.
