First, most cryptos are blockchain based. Second, cryptos include cryptocurrencies, and not all cryptos are cryptocurrencies. On the other end, all cryptos claim to be cryptoassets. Of course some are much better assets than others.

3rd generation cryptos offers both public blockchains and private blockchains. The later are most of the time developed as layer 2 sidechains of the main blochchain. They share the same features I previously describe.

I understand your position. Blockchain technical adavantages and potentials are hard to understand, it takes a lot of hours of studying the matter as it is not obvious at first look. That is why there are still detractors and scepticals about Cardano and the likes.

For your iinfo, Bitcoin (1st generation) and its peers, as well as the first version of Ethereum (2nd generation) do not have all the features that would allow them to offers the advantages and potentials of 3rd gens.

These 3rd gen cryptos and the thousand of applications that are part of the softwares are in their last stage of development. So be patient, it will become obvious.
