Madame K Estonia- 1939 The setting is an elite "gentlemen's club"- or brothel, if you prefer, and the woman who runs it and the girls who live there and the johns. It covers a fair amount of politics- politics which I did not know much about. Estonia was not covered much even in my college world history class. And it's an interesting place. Highly recommend- lots of languages (Russian, Estonian, German, English- and that's just so far)- and there are subtitles. imdb.com I think I found it on my PBS subscription on Amazon. I was just surfing through things recommended to me.
