OT--
The FED created inflation by their easy money policies

IMHO, the Fed created a necessary but not sufficient condition for inflation with their monetary policies. The matches that lit it were the war in Ukraine and the Chinese response to COVID. The first led to the rise in energy prices which in turn leads to price increases in transportation, fertilizer and food, heating and cooling, and all the other myriad things that use fossil fuels. The second led to supply chain imbalances and shortages of goods, hence a rise in prices. If those things hadn't happened, the Fed could have reduced its balance sheet and raised interest rates in a far more leisurely and less shocking manner.

Not that this changes much from what you wrote--after all, those things did happen and resulted in higher than expected inflation which now the Fed must deal with as best as it can.
