>>> Biden effectively gave his tacit approval to an "incursion" by indicating if wasn't a huge blunder, not such a big deal<<

Unless… it was an “invitation” to keep the incursion small? So, Ukraine could beat the crap out of them? Because this is just about what Russia did.

A “small” incursion into the largest country in Europe except for Russia? With the largest, best armed and trained military - after the Russian?

Could be that one of the reasons they hated Trump was that he interfered with their grand geo strategic plans of weakening and decolonizing (read: conquering) Russia. Maybe, because it would be impossible to convince a jolly, successful, smart, intuitive businessman that it was a good plan?

He would never accept the argument that the Russians would never use nukes, because… blah blah.

So, if he saw which way things were moving, the man who loves America - and who threatened to get rid of NATO - would not risk the lives of billions for the sake of a childish hegemonic fantasy.

The idea of achieving a military victory over Russia was unrealistic even in the days of Zbigniew Brzezinski, when Russia was weak and depressed. In the 1990’s, there was a big name, crazy-ish - but strangely popular - Russian politician, by the name Vladimir Zhirinovsky. He would tell the Russian Parliament (not in these exact words) that they felt like they’re presiding over a sh*thole country. But in reality, Russia was a superpower. And what it would take to change the former into the latter, was for them to realize that Russia indeed was a superpower, even in those days.

You just don't try to destroy a country with a large nuclear arsenal. We have too much to lose. Even with North Korea this train already left the station. Soon to be the same with Iran. Those screwballs live in fantasies while the world is changing.
