On the topic of evolution, this book was fascinating.
Improbable Destinies: Fate, Chance, and the Future of Evolution, by Jonathan B. Losos

Losos describes new research that shows evolution happening in many different ways, far beyond what
was originally believed, including rapid evolution of anoles on different Caribbean islands, changing basic
body structure in less than five years. Lots of other interesting info on new discoveries in evolution.

Plenty of material here to offend nearly everyone, but written in a most entertaining way.
