Another question - should we apologize to a robot?

I have Alexa play my favorite stations from satellite radio. When I want the music to stop, I'll say "Alexa stop." And she stops. About 3-4 weeks ago, a particularly irritating tune was playing and I said "Alexa shut up." She shut up. I almost apologized on the spot, but caught myself and told myself it's ridiculous to apologize to a robot.

I'll also ask Alexa what the weather is going to be that day. Occasionally, maybe a third of the time, she would end her forecast by saying "Have a nice day!" or "Have a good morning," followed by my name. She makes it very personal. Since I told her to shut up, I haven't gotten a have a nice or a have a good morning signoff.

I kind of miss those and am considering apologizing. But I'm not doing it yet, I'm holding out a while longer. <g>
