Just another example of a breakdown of our system of allowing states to have total control of voting processes without any systemic controls over processes nationwide. It creates an impossible situation.
We really need to have the well run states -- FL and a couple others -- start the process of drafting an interstate compact that would allow the states to start to align in whatever ways they can on elections.

If we were lucky, after 50 years of that, there would be some meaningful consensus on what exactly constitutes fair elections. One day, maybe. If widespread benefits can be shown early, getting some agreement in place might happen sooner.

For now, about 25 states have managed to outlaw OR ADEQUATELY RESTRICT corrupt Zuckerberg -style contributions. The other 25 have either failed outright or have been vetoed by governors who think the money is just too good to pass up, even if it means Dems have an unfair advantage at the ballot box. That this is stuck on Dem governor vetoes (mostly) suggests it might be difficult to get agreement on much of anything, but I don't think that is the case.

We need to get started, take what we can get, and try to move forward.
