Reginald, when I talked to Gateway 2000 about 3 weeks ago (I'm looking to buy a new computer, but it's even harder than buying stock) they said about 1/2 the *home* systems they were selling were P Pro. I was surprised, but looking at the price strategy, I think you are right. Intel marketing is evolving (with price/performance) the Pro to the mainstream FAST to maintain their technological lead. Others have pretty good P clones at lower prices.

Speaking of "clones", someone in a previous note mentioned Pentium "clones". This made me a little tense, as, if you remember, all the Intel computers from OEM's used to be refered to as IBM clones. Intel (and others) *cloned* IBM right out of market share; I hope this isn't a signal that the same is going to happen to Intel. I sincerely don't like the phrase "Pentium Clone".
