Good morning AJ,

It's difficult to mix business with government and end up with anything that is beneficial to the general population. Interest rates will be one factor but the general inflation will be a greater one. As people are squeezed by inflation they will be forced to choose where their $$$ will be utilized. Medications? or Food? or Rent/Mortgage? or Fuel/Utilities?

This is of special interest to those on fixed income. The pie slices appear to be the same size, but are made with more saw dust all the time. These are the same people who are the greatest consumers of medications across the board.

I doubt if the framers of the Inflation Reduction Act understand this. After all, they're the same people who were there creating the basic causes of Inflation - money supply expansion, spending beyond their own budgets and well beyond the IRS's receipts.

I've watched even my generic drug costs go up substantially over the previous 18-24 months. I only have one drug that's not generic. The Drug Pricing/Drug Insurance mess can't be described even by a forensic accountant to any satisfaction.

Thanks for bringing the articles up here.

Best wishes,
OAG Tom
