Longer term, SOX - buy when the stocks have lousy news and it looks gloomy. Sell when they've had a massive run and still look undervalued based on pie-in-sky future expectations.

I'm not sure we've seen the lousiest of news and enough gloom but the possibility is this is occurring.

Other than a few perma-bulls, I don't see many calling for intermediate term higher prices on the indexes.

I can see another decent drop in the VIX down to the 17-18 area in the not too distant future, but I'm not saying this is a lock. There are plenty of short positions that could be squeezed under the proper circumstances. Too many still calling for oil to soar, IMO, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see /CL over the next 10 months to look like XBI's chart from the past 10 months.

Fear is getting most of the headlines and no one is predicting a basing in the markets here, let alone a rise.
