Time cycles + technical analysis + neural nets = money?

I've been having fun with this thread, and perhaps foolishly have made it my first individual stock purchase @ 12.5. I appreciate the diverse comments (keep up the good work Liz!)

It seems that all of these "inputs" like technical and cycle analysis and even discrete events like earnings reports, interest rate cuts, etc. could be fed into a neural net... which could be trained to find the "optimal" set of weights for the various inputs, an produce a buy/sell/hold output.

Is this crazy? Or does anyone have practical experience or trustworthy second-hand info on neural net stock analysis?

Giddiup horsey!
