NRN, HMLO, IAU, CCW, EDV
Northern Shield Resources aka NRN released assays from sampling at their Root & Cellar Au/Ag/Cu prospect on the Burin peninsula in Newfoundland. The headline refers to 'High-Grade Gold' but the body of the text is more moderate, referring only to 'd anomalous to significant gold grades'. The latter is more accurate. While one of the samples did register 31 g/t, most of the values are much lower.
These samples were mostly from boulders, so next up is to try to find the source of these boulders, and they think they might have found it in a north/south trending structure, so they are going to be trenching that area.

As you will know from what the name Hemlo refers to, I first got interested in Hemlo Explorers aka HMLO as a gold explorer, but I am becoming more intrigued by their Project Idaho prospect, which does contain some gold, but as befits its location near the Marathon Pd/Cu mine currently under development by GENM, it also has lots of copper and PGM values.
In their latest PR, we get the results of a widespread sampling programme based on previous sampling and geophysics. As befits the location, they received very promising Cu and PD assays, but also Au, Pt, Ni, and Cr values. Overall, their commentary on the findings is rather terse, and they reveal nothing of the future plans for the property, but you can still tell they are pretty excited about the property. Me too; it would be great if they find enough metal to make it worthwhile for GENM to buy the deposit as a bolt-on to Marathon.

Speaking of starting with gold and then adding polyminerlalization to the mix, i-80 Gold aka IAU announced their 2023 exploration plans for the Ruby Hill property in Nevada. They are clearly very optimistic about what they will find, considering they are hiring six rigs. As well, they are continuing the study the economics of exactly how they are going to configure the mill on site they are upgrading.
Later in the year the drilling will get back to the gold-focused areas beneath the old pit, but to start the rigs will be concentrating on the Hilltop Corridor on the west side of the pit, whether they have already defined promising Au/Ag/Pb/Zn deposits which remain open in multiple directions. Since then they have also completed more geophysics which reveals several more untested targets which will be drilled up.
Expect a constant news flow from Ruby Hill this year, and of course IAU will also be generating news from the other Nevada properies they are developing into gold mines.

How's this for a headline assay -- 29165 g/t Ag, equivalent to 850 iz.ton? Canada Silver Cobalt Works aka CCW released this result as part of a programme to evaluate waste rock at their past-producing Castle mine in Ontario for future processing. CCW has identified other above ground waste as potentially suitable for production using modern techniques, and as they rehabilitate the existing workings, they are no only coming across new veins but other discarded rock which may be worthwhile to process.
Mind you, I am hoping that they made a mistake in the headings for the table of assays , which says this result id ppm rather than g/t. The latter corresponds to the 850 oz/ton, so we'll see which way the inevitable clarification reveals.

FWIW, in the wake of EDV's Q4 release, BMO released a new analyst report. Citing a strong quarter and balance sheet along with the growth pipeline, BMO kept EDV at Outperform but raised their target from $36 to $38. |
