Unfortunately for that hope, Stanley Kubrick made Dr Strangelove which I saw at the time. Fear of doom and the instinct for survival are over-ridden by instincts for suicide, malevolence, sadism in some people.

Throw in the need for identity, chimpoid tribal group-think instinct such as the Hale-Bopp, Jim Jones poisoning, soccer team mass mania violence, and next thing you know there's seig heil goose-stepping, trumpets and here come the bloody Germans yet again. And Americans who just love another Mission Accomplished.

Dumb Kiwis are full of the propaganda and have declared war on Russia.

To me, it's astonishing. But I understand that most people are not like me. Humans are not fungible clones. But enough are and keen to go along to get along if not out front beating the drums of war.

The atomic bomb arsenals were made and designed to work.

The USA won the first nuclear war.
But this time the other side has them too.
