Can you replace the AC with a heat pump and snatch whatever credits you might get from your state,
as well as the feds? Plus gain the additional heat source for your home.

Earlier this year I replaced a Rinnai wall mount furnace (propane) in my house, did the install myself but brought in a propane guy just to connect the line (and take on some liability if I had a leak-only $150).
Got no credit or rebates on the unit since it was bad 'ol propane, but did get an $80 rebate from the state for a $120 nest wifi thermostat <g>.

Nothing like a little extra heat!
