It depends on pricing... for me it's limited to a few brands. With NVMEs some of the high end Western Digital now are often as good as Samsung and usually 15-20% cheaper on a good sale.

But for all the me too brands of which there might be a few dozen, you really have to do your homework on the type of cells and controllers used, etc. And it's generally not worth the risk to save a few extra bucks on those.
