Mr Glenn Shevchenko reports
The company has recently received approval from the Newfoundland and Labrador Mines Department
for three map staked properties totalling 134 claim units in Labrador. The properties are along the
western margin of the Nain Plutonic Complex, 40km west/northwest of the South Voisey Bay project.
Drilling by Teck/Donner/Northern Abitibi on the south Voisey Bay project in late 1997 intersected a 15m
interval of massive Ni-Cu-Co sulphides at the base of a thick gabbro rock unit. The host of these
massive sulphides and the large Voisey's Bay Ni-Cu-Co deposits are gabbros related to the Nain
Plutonic Complex.
Mapping by the mines department indicates that the company's new properties cover similar gabbros and
are proximal to anomalous nickel and copper lake bottom samples outlined by regional government
geochemical surveys.
The company now controls five additional nickel-copper properties in the Nain Complex outside of its
Sarah Lake property, which is an integral part of the South Voisey Bay project.
