Brumar,
So you know all about the Chinese balloon?
Well it wasn't collecting weather data, that's for sure.

As I said to Jaime, there was no excuse for even letting that balloon reach our shores. Not even Alaska.

And there was no valid excuse for not shooting it down immediately. The two that were presented by media "analysts" are the following:

1) We don't want to reveal our defensive capabilities.

2) We don't want to cause a diplomatic row.

#1 doesn't pass the smell test. What's so super-secret about our homeland defenses that we couldn't shoot it down? If we sent an F/A-18 after it, would that have revealed all that much? LOL ...

As for #2, that sounds more plausible, but it just seems way too timid of a response, especially for a nation that vowed to defend Taiwan if that island were invaded.

TucQer Qarlson and the Q Continuum have their theories, and for once, they don't sound too far-fetched.

Personally I think Brandon should respond with a balloon of our own. Except our balloon would have a picture of dArK bRaNdOn trolling the Chinese people.
