And just as many Russian troops have been estimated to have been killed to date, as well. It is a static war of attrition. The Russians on the east bank are preparing for trench warfare, for God's sake.

The Russians have not only failed to advance, they've lost ground, after a year of war. Calling that winning is just preposterous.
