I work as a first responder - we wear masks all the time for all sorts of things, gloves and at times protective suites - it is quite common to have all our gear burned, at times we get home and toss everything in the garbage. At times we will go through up to a dozen sets of gloves during an incident and several masks.
Firemen will wear a mask and have an air supply for a deck or couch fire - that could be put out with a garden hose - they have been laughed at for this - those guys standing around laughing and calling them whimps? Most likely will die from cancer from that one exposure - they are sadly just unaware and ignorant of the risks of some foams or pressure treated wood when burnt. They have embraced being ignorant - it is their power or what they perceive as power.

In many respects your girls choice to wear a mask is empowering - it filters out the shallow people and idiots who only judge people by their looks. It is something to think about, these people who attack others for wearing masks are afraid, they see something different, they attack, they are afraid. Your daughters have a tool, a idiot detector, an abuser detector and I doubt they would be interesting in associating with any one that the mask filters out.

I honestly do not give a crap whether an individual chooses to wear a mask or not, it is their choice. I do find it ironic that the whiners who tout "freedumb" attack others who exercise their right to make a choice. In high school it is the bullies, the aholes, the louts, the knuckle draggers who pick on kids who choose to mask up.
That is pretty much the case here. The fact that they need to attack others, to march around with their chests thrust out muttering how superior they are, actually shows how small, weak, gutless they are and their unwillingness to honour individual choice says how afraid they are of people who exercise their right to make a choice.
If I go into a store and am asked to wear a mask I do not have a tantrum about it, same goes for the dentist, or hospital.

TB? HepC? sure glad I was wearing a mask when I worked on those subjects that later turned out to be carriers.
"Masks work", different ones to different degrees. That statement alone can get some poor children foaming at the mouth - I find that quite funny, and a sad statement on the declining ability of cognitive function:)

MASK = a tool of empowerment;) who would have thunk it.
