Tenchu's Thoughts: Seymour Bulls--t

The Internet is abuzz with an article that Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh posted on his Substack:

How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline (substack.com)

It's a well-written story, with a great narrative from start to finish.

The only problem is that none of the "facts" in that story are confirmed. It's all based on a single unnamed source:
Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.
How do we know that source is reliable?

Just trust Seymour Hersh himself, who has a Pulitzer Prize. I'm pretty sure most of his doubters don't have Pulitzer Prizes themselves, so their opinions don't count, if you are a believer in appeals to authority.

PooTin's Propaganda

The Kremlin, of course, is jumping up and down and amplifying this story like crazy:

Putin's Getting What He Wants (msn.com)
Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov were among the Russian officials who have publicly called on the U.S. to address the claims made in the story.
Of course, that is typical of RuZZian propaganda. Dismiss any negative story as "fake news" while amplifying any positive story as the "trooth."

Facts, logic, consistency, they all matter not in a "post-trooth" world.

Only the number of "likes" matter.

And you can bet that this story will get millions of "likes" from all the PooTin cucks, Z-nationalists, anti-globalists, and members of the Q Continuum across the world. That includes the paid African trolls who make up Cyber Front Z, as well as Chinese-controlled social media and Indian nationalist channels.

The Unnamed Source

Back to the credibility of the "unnamed source." When a journalist bases an entire story on "unnamed sources," that journalist is putting his or her own reputation on the line. There is no way to verify the facts of that story other than to try and corroborate those facts with objective data.

Which of course Seymour Hersh did not do. Instead, he's hoping that others can do that work for him.

Speaking of which, Hersh has quite a reputation. His Pulitzer Prize came from his reporting of the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War. He has won numerous other awards throughout his multi-decade career as an investigative journalist.

But Hersh also has a record of relying on single, unnamed sources for many of his controversial articles. One example is his skepticism regarding the official story of the Osama bin Laden assassination:

U.S. officials fuming over Hersh account of bin Laden raid - POLITICO
Hersh’s story relies heavily on the account of a single unnamed source, referred to as “a retired senior intelligence official who was knowledgeable about the initial intelligence about bin Laden’s presence in Abbottabad.”
To this day, the details of Hersh's story about the Bin Laden assassination remains unconfirmed.

Logical Inconsistencies

Which brings us back to Hersh's story regarding the Nord Stream pipeline bombings.

He of course brings up the favorite video that the PooTin cucks love to bring up, namely Brandon's promise that he will end the Nord Stream pipeline if RuZZia invades:

But that video means nothing, just like most everything else Brandon says.

Instead, actions speak louder than words, and Brandon's actions revolving around foreign policy have been punctuated by extreme caution. To take such brazen actions against the Nord Stream pipeline, such as destroying it, would not fit the pattern of this administration.

And given how leaky the federal government is and how poorly it keeps secrets, there's no way such an act could ever be kept a secret. FFS, Brandon can't even keep track of classified documents, so he's no better at keeping secrets than Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.

Risk of Discovery

OK, so let's say that Brandon did indeed order the bombing of the Nord Stream pipeline. What are the consequences?

Germany will now be under pressure to stop sending aid to Ukraine.

China and India will now be more sympathetic to claims that NATO started the war in Ukraine.

The flow of disinformation would skyrocket, as one of the Q's conspiracy theories turn out to be true. (And as rxbond once said, "If one of them are true, they all are." Formerly About Advanced Micro Devices Message Board - Msg: 34127487 (siliconinvestor.com) )

Ukraine will find that their aid starts drying up, and unfortunately their chances of stopping PooTin's war of choice depends 100% on Western resolve.

There will be a significant destabilization of NATO itself.

RuZZia will find it much easier to "mobilize" another 500,000 warm bodies into the meat grinder.

The Democrats along with a significant portion of Republicans will all be facing a Vietnam-like retribution, as protests against the war in Ukraine start to grow.

The GQP will gain momentum, fueled by the likes of TucQer Qarlson and Trump himself.

All that just to bomb a pipeline that RuZZia shut off anyway?

It doesn't make sense. The Brandon administration would be too scared to do anything like this.

The Kremlin, of course, is fond of false flag operations, which is why I think they did it even though the move ultimately backfired.

Or maybe it didn't backfire. Maybe this was the goal all along, to bomb a pipeline that they were in full control of in the first place, knowing that the Q Continuum here in America and abroad would question the motives of NATO.

Bottom Line: Seymour Bullshit

Bottom line is that this is an extraordinary claim by Seymour Hersh. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

And Hersh provides none. He only bases his story on two things:

- A single, unnamed source, which is his modus operandi.

- His reputation as a decorated journalist, which he has already cashed in years ago.
