"Finally, Farrar argued that any movements between EchoStar and Globalstar could push Starlink (owned by SpaceX's Elon Musk) to pursue its own satellite spectrum via a purchase of Omnispace or even Ligado Networks. "Wouldn't that be fun!" Farrar writes."

100% Unnecessary. Soon, nearly all CMRS bands will be usable as Satellite Spectrum for DTHS services. See TMUS, STARLINK, ASTSpace. The assault by Starlink on MSS services is just starting. Starlink will soon decimate the Satfi/SatFi2/IridiumGO/Exec market place with a much faster/cheaper global hotspot alternative. Then the final blow into the future of MSS... SAT IoT. Globalstar and Iridium place much of their future on these services. But, SAT IoT via CMRS bands will transform this market. Suddenly, SAT IoT devices can be built using Economics of Scale CMRS/smartphone components. Slashing the Equipment Costs of SAT IoT devices and service. The MSS providers that must compete using specially built and designed hardware will not be able to compete.

It an interesting dichotomy!!

In years past. MSS providers pleaded to convert their spectrum to terrestrial. Now the terrestrial providers are converting terrestrial to satellite.

And so it goes,
