I tend to agree.

Last night I was reading an advanced article on polar vortex. What I got out of it was that extra warming at the arctics weakens the vortex which in turn will allow expansion of cold weather from the arctics to NE US. And that they expect the belly of the event to be around Feb 17.

BUT, if you've ever read anything meteorological, it is worse than speaking with macro economists. It's always uncertain about what they say - on one hand this, on the other hand we need to watch that. So I texted my local meteorologist and asked him to take 5 minutes to speak with me about it. He texted back that he himself is learning about it and will talk to me later about it :(

If I get a chance, I will take him out this weekend and push him to make sense of what is going on.
