Have seen a lot of parties come and go in my voting life both federal and provincial in Canada.. Canucks are accepting until they are not ...then they kill you .. speaking of political parties.. :) Federally we had the Reform populist movement .. Become the Alliance then the reverse take over of the political shell company the old PCs

Harper's Harper's political history is very intriguing to me .. He started as a young Liberal.. Became disillusioned by Trudeau Prime's NEP (National Energy Policy which I think lasted 6 months and is basically why Eastern Canada is a major oil IMPORTER, despite our huge national reserves) ... and rightfully so it was prolly the biggest DUMBASS political move to divide a nation in our history .. We suffer today from it still while Prime's scion Justin pours vinegar on the wound.. Funny to me that Harper is so vilified as a Hard right guy .. He was not.. He was just trying to look out for his country ... but the Liberal gaga folks wear blinkers.. like the current Conservative leaders .. crazy $hit Canuck politics.. Yours too to us.. but frankly just a different crazy :)

We have another very interesting guy .. The father of our universal health care system .. en.wikipedia.org A Babtist Minster born in Scotland and a Western Canuck.. One might expect him to be RW .. But no he is also the father of the NDP party .. left of Liberals.. (too left prolly for Bernie LOL) BTW Tommy supported entry into WWII... he had visited Germany in 1936 .. did not like what he saw

Essentially we have become as polarized as you guys.. but it is not so much a French English thing .. NOT after so many immigrants LOL but rather an east / west thing which it really always has been .. just it cannot be all blamed on Quebec anymore :) Ontario ... Oh Ontario ...
