Re <<My primary school was run by nuns. We learned to use the Abacus there>>
I was either not astute-enough or/and too distracted to learn use of abacus beyond point of addition
thank goodness for technology moving forward
then again, of course, my understanding of mathematics lags, perhaps as a consequence
Today is Sunday, my day with the Jack, taking him to piano lesson, lunch, shopping for some fencing gear, and then badminton workout. Afterwards and beforehand he gets to game over the internet w/ his friends.
Yesterday was mama's turn, making sure he engages mathematics workout w/ his sister, the coconut, over zoom, followed by badminton workout out 'there', and then booting him upstairs for reading workout. In between times Jack got in his gaming, and he inputted his paper-portfolio from my iPad to his.
His BTC and Intel is flat since whenever hi last checked, and Nvidia is almost a double but still 1/3 off of the highs. He noted that the Coconut's PF is way down due to her inattention to what happened in the gold mining space. Overall he is up 20% from get-go, and the Coconut is net net -0-%. At Coconut's peak, +50%, Jack was net net -0-, our S African days. Jack is very busy, but, alas, sadly, no abacus exposure at all.
Coconut now understand how nice it is to have a nice sunny blue-sky day after long hard winter. Working on her CV and attending workshop to secure internship. Shall return to HK over Spring Break to engage w/ interviews.
Soon shall have to work out next academic year's living arrangement. Most students live in dorms on campus all four years but the suite mates change unless not, by consensus.
Think the kids are beginning to understand.
