"which brand of socialism will we have" and "how much of it"... (and, as always, who will be in control of it).
Salient point .. I agree

Reagan to Bush I and "the USSR's surrender" (not sure I understand Iraq wrt Bush 1)

China was already morphing :)

having deliberately changed brands from communist to national socialist in every element other than the name of the party...

Yes Deng started it.. he saw the future.. but it could not happen without Mao's death.. the reality of Mao was to unify China.. not completely realised as of yet.. but coming .. to eliminate the warlords, and hence to throw off the Western yoke.. (That in of itself makes China evil LOL) I have said MANY times.. socialism NEEDS capitalism.. Both are good.. Communism is a dead end.. it kills human spirit..

Less remarked is that at the same time... the American shift was one from accommodation between the two brands under the dissimulation of each being competing brands of "capitalism" in our system...

The socialist left surrendered... agreed to kill the unions and shift jobs to offshore for the cheap labor in China... still a win "politically" as that supported socialism growing in power offshore... although not understanding the shift in branding occurring there... ?

That is naked capitalism.. no social commitment or idea of the public good .. We have many examples in the world today that disprove that fallacy ..

In result, today, the world is populated with cadres of competing national socialist countries, and various national socialist economic "teams"... the lines between which are not always as clear as it may seem...

That is a problem.. National socialism is just fascism .. it has ZERO to do with socialism as in the Nordic countries or my country Canada..

While the WEF et al "informally" oversee the whole thing with a design to play one off against another in a correograhped bit of theater... pitting one against another as is useful to them... picking winners and losers as the mood, whim, and the events dictate... to best benefit and insulate themselves...

COMPLETELY AGREE

It's a world full of teams of NAZI's... Putin is just another one of them... Biden... Xi... and is is any wonder you see morons posing as "Master's of the Universe" doing the things they are in the way they are... as Covid/Vaccines (with zero liability) for fun, profit and population control... rant continues... etc.

Do not wish to debate vaccine issues :) but Biden does not stand for democracy unless you mean the democracy that the US brought to Iraq for example.. :( Xi does not pretend to be democratic really .. but that system (PRC) needs to change.. it will .. the economic freedom already realised will bring other freedoms.. it is a natural progression.. but for now China is convenient whipping boy for the US.. the only time you guys are not killing each other is when you have a proxy.. for now China is it :)

The competing brands of socialism have different weaknesses... b

To be clear I think parts of Europe like France and the Nordic countries are socialist.. my country Canada also but to a lesser extent but differing by province.. NOT a national thing .. Quebec for example is much closer to the European model.. (but they fcuk up everything with language BS) but not say Alberta

PC is a disease which we need a vaccine for ;) <ng>
