So true! Similar thing happened to me. I woke up at 3 in the morning with severe pain and I said to my wife, “something’s not right, I need to get to the emergency room”, so I described my pain to the doc and he thought it was a kidney stone. I said it seems too far in the front to be that, it might be my appendix. An imagery hour later and I’m rushed into the ER. On top of that I had to wait for my COVID test to come back, and they surrounded me with this weird isolation box on the ER table to do the surgery.

Turned out fine, but I lost 12 inches of my intestine.
