None of these railways are run like in the old days, a friend applied to be a bench carpenter and they said he wasn't qualified because he did not have his journeyman's certificate, he said didn't teaching journeyman level carpentry to journeymen qualify him? The railway said no, but he was qualified to be a train conductor if he wanted to take the two week course.
