That's a good idea, but the high-risers might still be worth finding. Some might still have potential, especially after a small pullback over a couple of days. (The Brookins' Scan in QP2 looks for strong stocks that have moved down for two days and then up for one.) It might be helpful to check CCI or your favorite overbought indicator to see whether the high-risers are still worth considering.
