Somehow I have missed this thread and reading it completely changed my routine for the morning. So many names who I used to interact with on my board here on SI. In fact, some of them I had even PM'd in the past couple of years only to not get a reply. I guess now I know why.
Thank you to those keeping up this list. It's a testimonial of sorts that our digital friends can think of us well enough to, even if only in a small way, immortalize us/them in this manner.
I have only met one person physically who I have exchanged messages with here on SI though so many of the names listed here were active members on my stock board that I'm feeling quite a loss. I had never really thought much about the differences between physical and digital friendships but it's now going to be a topic of thought for me into the near future. At one point does a digital friend become something more?
I had no idea Anthony Elgindy (Anthony@Pacific) had committed suicide but it stands to reason I suppose. I remember multiple calls with him and eventually had to make the decision that this wasn't a relationship I could continue with. But he's still part of this board's past.
Some of the names on this list are hitting me like a ton of bricks, especially Canuck Dave, Poet, Cogito, Vendit, SiouxPal, Altair, Bruce, Jim Bishop, MetaComet, Coug, etc, etc.
RIP to all.
