If you go to their Web site, you can see over the years, almost 30% of their previous dividends were ROC. It might have something to do with the buying/selling of some of their subsidiary businesses, brands and/or warehouses. Those were capital investments so I would suspect that when they were sold, some of that may have been classified as ROC.

The unfortunate thing is I paid tax on that dividend income at the qualified rate (20%) when the ROC s/d really be deducted from the cost basis. It was small in the past but this year it was 100% ROC.
