A Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) lawyer says the Public Order Emergency Commission (POEC) findings are too deferential to the Government and do not follow the evidence it heard from CSIS, about whether the Truckers' demo constituted a national emergency as defined under Emergencies Act, (it did not); and from RCMP, OPP, and Ottawa police affirming the adequacy of the powers available to them under the regular criminal code and justice system, (they were adequate).
The POEC was appointed by the government and has to report to Parliament, which it has done, but the CCF has garnered a judicial review of the use of the Emergencies Act to take place in April.
There seems to be quite a bit of hand wringing in some conservative quarters about the outcome of the POEC.
BUT,
1. the row over the imposition of the act is going to continue for a long a long time
AND,
2. combined with the resentment about Liberal govt's persecution of farmers,
3. the anger against its shutting off oil and gas development and pipelines,
4. rage at the inflation caused by 2 and 3, above,
5. growing fear of its promotion of government 'assisted' suicide,
6. shock and revulsion at its toleration of deliberate physical transformation, deformation, and sterilization of supposedly tranny minor children.
!!?? AND how could I forget !!?? :
7. The increasing clarity of how useless and cruel were the Covid lock downs and mandates and how evil have been vax injuries, deaths and murders in pursuit of vainglory and money.
ALL, ALL OF THEM, promoted by the Trudeau Liberal federal government.
I think the next federal and provincial elections are going to be not so much elections, as reckonings.
