Ken; You live in Birmingham ? Isn't Bell South in trial with ADSL technology there ? From this Sunday's paper here in Atlanta I saw an article on ADSL vs. Cable. They concluded that you might be able to buy home equipment by this Christmas but it would be 2000 or after in which the Bells will have enough stuff in place to offer ADSL. A slower version called ADSL Lite takes less repeater equipment and may be available sooner but it is not in trial yet.
