Dear kidl,

Thank you for writing in. I had a good laugh (with only the best of intentions) upon reading your comment.

Reason being it reminded me of what Charlie Munger said once about derivative accounting: That these so called "assets" belonged in the balance sheet category of "Good until reached for" lol.

But jokes aside. I think this is becoming the common theme of all the responses I've been receiving so far (and understandably so). Hence, any investor must come to their own judgement as to whether the risks that you and Mr. Sun Tzu have mentioned warrant elimination of BABA or Chinese stocks in general.

Personally, while I do acknowledge the non-business related risk factors that are associated with the CCP, my view is that the Chinese government's agenda while diverged to a given extent, may not be as misaligned as we common stockholders may think upon first (dare I say, superficial) inspection.

My reasoning is simple: The CCP wanted to bring big tech to heel yes, but I do not think it is their singular mission to destroy their own Crown Jewels (evidenced by recent regulatory easing). They have come to realise the damage they have wrought in the process and are on the path of reinvigorating the economy.

Will reality play out as they have portrayed? Time will tell.

Needless to say however, if any prospective investor does not buy into my line of reasoning. There is absolutely no need to delve any deeper in to Chinese tech in general, no matter how attractive the quantitative/ qualitative prospects.

Sincerely,
B18
