That's a misreading... I'm not failing to note the (CCP) State's submission to "democracy"... as "the mob"... but, neither am I an advocate of "rule by mob action" even while gladly recognizing "the mob is far less wrong" in the instance ? But, the point of that, in context of China... is only in the proof that China appears fully CAPABLE of democratic self rule... with that proof shown in the superior judgement of the people vs the party in the instance in Covid policy... not seeming to me to provide proof in limits ?
Responding appropriately to protest... forestalls the need for mob action... which is why (functional) democratic systems are far more robust and capable of (better, faster, more accurate) correction...
Whether in China, Canada, or the U.S., I'm in favor of FUNCTIONAL systems that avoid that need for mob action, NOT making that the minimum in incentive required to enable, allow, recognize the need for, and tolerate that process... enabling change... ?
What you see me doing in relation to Canada... isn't different... only noting Canada HAS raised the bar in the minimum incentive... while obstructing FUNCTION that should exist ? Suppressing the mob... as Canada chose... is not the solution to the problem...
So... score one for the CCP leadership... in that competition for being not as brain dead as Trudeau ? Canada still contains vastly greater reservoir in potential and ability to CORRECT that error made... than exists in China ?
Biden, of course... not really in the same league to compete with them re "brain dead" ?
Is the Covid "correction" by the CCP... evidence of China building toward a "French Revolution" in China ?
Maybe. The mob got some good reps in during Spring practice. Has the CCP submitting to the demands of the mob... convinced "the mob" that all is well, again, now... as "leadership" have met demands... so, declare victory... and ignore why it was made necessary ? Highly improbable... as a view only likely to be seen as reasonable by "the king"... relishing his skills in avoiding close encounters with ropes and lampposts.
But, I'd accept your judgement that its a proof that the CCP are more practiced tyrants than the silly amateurs we have in the west... seeking now to ensure democracy is made dysfunctional... "to secure their control"... both by violating fundamentals in rights, as "speech control"... and in suppression of dissent through media manipulation, or CCP-like interventions to suppress it... (Jan 6 / Truckers)...
Disrupting the means of correction that should exist, and should work... does not mean there will not be a correction... as the CCP and the Chinese people just demonstrated ?
All tyrants... are always aware that their power is tenuous... hanging by a thread. And, in the U.S., that is why you see the MASSIVE disconnect between the people... happily exercising their rights to protest the 2020 election fraud on January 6th... and the (illegitimate) leadership's PANICKED response to a rightful protest... which the leadership don't want to (can't) acknowledge as legitimate... which has them now rapidly depleting their reserves of trust... while destroying "the mobs" expectation of systemic legitimacy... now already well below 50%... with proofs continuing to mount... not least in the behavior of the tyrants. |
