Lawyers say things that will benefit their clients, whether the things said are true or not. A court will decide if these patent claims have merit, or if they are just another desperation attempt by a floundering, one product company that is dangling on the precipice of a financial disastor if everyone can start making their own Zip discs. Believe it, this is yet another Hail Mary attempt by Iomega; one that resounds like a certain $100 Million Ad campaign. My take is that Nomai discs do not violate ANY patent laws, and simply help to point out the rather lazy, unconcerned way the original Zip Patents were initially filed. NOw, Iomega, and its investors are paying the price.
