In the FWIW category, I went back and looked to see how LGND reacted after a similar looking chart. Gap open w/ lower close than open, but up close nonetheless. Today's action was 20% gap w/ a 8% up close. I found two examples similar 8/27/97 which had a 12% gap up w/ 7% up close. Also 6/5/95 which had a 20% gap up w/ a 10% up close. Both examples had higher volume into gap day. Only experienced very minor pullbacks in both w/ 25% left before at least a 20% pullback. Another day I will throw out is 3/27/97. Nature diabetes article if I recall. I personally say it doesn't match today's pattern b/c a)was only one day off relative low b) declining volume into and on 3/27. We shall see...
