"Beyond Paradise" to be precise is a solid OK; the characters lack the goofy charm of the island crew, even though they are trying hard (too hard) to get the small town eccentric vibe.

Given a choice, I would always watch the original first. But this one is in our genre wheelhouse and watchable.
