It's not about "look-and-feel," Norm.

NT-based systems are cheaper, based on standard PC components, arguably offer better price/performance, offer better compatibility with the massive installed PC base, and offer compatibility with the zillions of available Win32 applications. Further, NT has "Microsoft" behind it, who has enough will, influence, marketing, and resources to ensure mass adoptions.

And oh yes, there is the constant reassurance that NT will be better than UNIX, someday....
