I'm new to the SI community and CEF investing and have a few questions...
When analyzing a fund on CEF Connect, the Distributions tab lists the categories where each distribution is sourced from (Income, Long, Short, ROC). How can one tell if a distribution is safe or eroding the overall health of the fund? I’m just begining to tweak my DGI portfolio to an higher Income generator and want to add some “healthy” high yielding CEFs. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Examples:

THQ: pulls money from each category except Income
-distributions are steady since inception
-NAV/price follow the overall market since inception
-leverage is 21%

PDI: pulls money from Income only
-distributions are steady since inception
-NAV/price follow the overall market since inception
-leverage is 47%

BST: pulls money from various categories each year (Income only, Long Gains only, RoC only, Long + Short Gains, etc)
-distributions increase since inception
-NAV/price follow the overall market since inception
-leverage is 0%

PDI: pulls money from Income only
-distributions are steady since 2018
-NAV/price disjointed from the overall market since inception
-leverage is 12%

CRF: pulls money from mostly RoC & some Income
-distributions are decreasing since inception
-NAV/price on a down trend since inception
-leverage is 9%
