Paul,
I found the article you posted very interesting and informative. It reflects a picture of AMD that has been forming over the past quarter. It also sums up AMD's problems and prospects succinctly: the CPU business does not look promising for the company, but even if AMD fails there, it is not about to go bankrupt because of its fundamental value and other business segments. In short, AMD is likely to go nowhere. On the bright side, it probably won't fall much further (especially when people realize that it makes more than just CPUs), and IF it succeeds in manufacturing its K6 in quantity, there is a tremendous amount of upside potential.
In short, AMD is near bottom; it remains, however, a speculative buy at this point.
