I've dedicated my first round picks to our football picking champion Carlos by making "controlled random" picks. By that I mean I entered the historical win percentages of the various seed matchups into a spreadsheet and used the random function to pick all the games at once based on that. I did hedge a bit with "not too random" by rejecting any layouts that had a 16/1, 15/2, or more than one 14/3 upset.

Then, just to add to the randomness, the cat stepped on the UPS power button and I lost the picks I had settled on so I had to generate them anew.

Just to make it fair though, I went back to my standard method of trying to think about the matchups in subsequent rounds. So if I take an early lead it won't last.

Will be curious if anyone joins me in my winner pick. It's definitely an out-of-favor team as far as bracket picks go, probably thinking back to what happened last year...
