Hi,

Never heard of Nokia getting involved with iDEN. I doubt that Nokia has much need for yet another standard. It's juggling a dozen already. Is this just my ignorance but isn't Nokia already the second biggest manufacturer of TDMA phones in the States? Is this iDEN another TDMA standard and does the US market really need it since it already is split among three standards? Motorola has a hideous history of promoting standards of its own, so I'm kind of suspicious. I've heard much good about Nextel, though. It would be interesting to hear more about this.
Yeah, I live in Helsinki, but I'm originally from Jyv„skyl„ (Those are a's with dots above them). Neat that you visited it, nobody much does. It's now Finland's latest high tech boom town - they were finally able to lure Nokia's new R&D center in. Finland is a breath-takingly beautiful, awe-inspiringly clean and exquisitely boring country. Glad you liked it!
