They cannot admit the truth. Once you have drank the Kool Aid and swallowed the hook it is hard to admit you have been taken. They are brain washed sycophants. Cults all operate the same. Once you have joined into a chorus of "Hail to da cheif" you are lost. Some common synonyms of sycophant are leech, parasite, sponge, and toady. While all these words mean “a usually obsequious flatterer or self-seeker,” sycophant adds to this a strong suggestion of fawning, flattery, or adulation. Synonyms: obsequious, toadyish, fawning, bootlicking. Sometimes an intervention or huge exposure of the fraudulent cult leader like the "BET" can shock a cult follower into reality.
