Why should she? She talks about science, not religion.
1) She clearly treats "science" as dogma. "It's just ... it's just ... SCIENCE."

2) She was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in theology, having demonstrated nothing more than a dogmatic attitude toward "science."

3) By its very nature, science is never settled. Science can do wonders in explaining why we're getting drenched here in California even though we're in a multi-year drought, but it does a terrible job predicting when the world will end due to climate change.

Greta's activism is based on a sense of urgency, that we need to save the planet for her generation. She bases her urgency on the "science" without knowing WTF that encompasses.

Like I said, that's dogma, not "science."
