I agree on salt. I decided to deliberately cut down on salt for various reasons awhile back and now find
many foods are way too salty. It really does creep up on people when they don't pay attention. Rather like the sugar/refined carb addictions.

I also do much better when I cut way back on bread. I don't have a gluten problem but the carbs in most breads definitely affect me negatively. I occasionally use Lavash for sandwiches, a lot fewer carbs in that.

--that said, everyone is different. We all have our own 'idiot-syncracies'...
